ROCHESTER, MN – AUGUST 13, 2007 – Darin
Ruf (Creighton) and Matt Trausch (Oakland) were both selected to
the Northwood's League Post-Season All-Star team, voted on by
coaches and media personal.
Ruf, who was also a midseason all-star
selection, hit .347 with eight home runs and 34 RBI. His batting
and average and home runs were second best in the league. During
the second half he logged a 12-game hitting streak and 20-game
on base streak while being the Chucks every day first baseman.
Trausch threw two complete games, one a
shutout versus Battle Creek on July 4, and posted the fourth
best ERA in the league at 1.77. His 6-2 record put him fourth on
the wins list, while tossing more innings than anyone else in
the league logging 86.1 throughout the summer.
Each Ruf and Trausch were selected as the
NWL Player of the Night on one occasion.
