WAUSAU, WI – December 20, 2007 – The 6th Annual
Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame will be held on
Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at Dale’s Weston Lanes
in Schofield. The evening’s festivities will begin with a
social hour and autograph session at 5:30 PM.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame Banquet are on sale now and can be
purchased at the Woodchucks’ office in the Washington Square
Plaza or by calling the office at (715)845-5055. Tickets are
$35 each and include dinner. Reserved tables for eight people
can be purchased for $280.
Headlining the induction ceremony on January 17th are
the following three keynote speakers: former major leaguer and
Wausau Timber Harold Reynolds, Milwaukee Brewers TV announcer
Brian Anderson, and Woodchucks field manager Jim Gantner.
The ballots have been finalized and are now in the hands of the
committee members. The voting committee will submit their
ballots by Friday, December 21st. Voters are
choosing one candidate from each of the following four
categories: Resident / Non-Resident Professional, Resident
Amateur Player, Amateur Coach / Manager, and Non-Uniform
Person. The 2008 induction class will be announced at a press
conference on Wednesday, January 9th, 2008 at 11 AM
at the Lodge at Cedar Creek.
