Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame Looks to Add Potential Candidates

WAUSAU, WI – November 15, 2007 – The 6th Annual Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame and its advisory board is looking to add potential candidates to the ballots for 2008.  Potential candidates must fall into one of the following four categories:

  1. Category 1 – Resident / Non-Resident Professional.  A resident professional is a player or coach who resided at least three years in Central Wisconsin and went on to success in high levels of professional baseball as a player, coach, or manager.  A non-resident professional is a player or coach who spent at least one season in Central Wisconsin and went on to success in high levels of pro baseball as a player, coach, or manager.
  2. Category 2 – Resident Amateur Player.  A resident amateur player is someone who was successful as a player in youth, high school, and / or adult amateur baseball in Central Wisconsin and may have also played in a lower level of minor league baseball.
  3. Category 3 – Amateur Coach / Manager.  An amateur coach or manager must be a Central Wisconsin native or long-time resident who achieved great success with teams at the local, state, or national levels.
  4. Category 4 – Non-Uniform Person.  A non-uniform person must be a Central Wisconsin native or long-time resident who has achieved great success as a supporter or administrator of baseball at the local, state, or national level.

All potential candidates need to be added to the ballot prior to Friday, December 7th.  Please contact the Wisconsin Woodchucks’ office at (715)845-5055 with any potential nominees for the 2008 Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame induction.  Potential nominees can also be emailed to Matt Ritzer at mattritzer@woodchucks.com.
